Karanganyar – To celebrate its 102nd anniversary, Regency Karanganyar through Tourism, Youth and Sports Department (DISPARPORA) held Nusantara Bridal Festival 2019 at De Tjolomadoe, 5-6 October 2019. A total of 14 regional Nusantara bridal fashions were displayed, such as Solo Putri, Solo Basahan, Yogya Putri, Padang, and Bali.

“The initial idea was of my admiration for the activities carried out by Harpi Melati (Association of Indonesian Bridal Makeup Experts) in Karanganyar. Even though it was only a seminar but the registrants were many. It means that enthusiasm in the world of bridal makeup is extraordinary,” said the Head of the Youth and Sports Tourism Department ( DISPARPORA) Karanganyar, Titis Sri Jawoto.

Given the high enthusiasm, the department decided to raise the concept into Festival this year collaborating with Harpi Melati Karanganyar and De Tjolomadoe. Besides parade of Nusantara Bridal Fashions, also held in this event were Bridal Make-up Seminar and Wedding Preparation Seminar.

Karanganyar Regent Juliyatmono expressed his appreciation for the festival which was held for the first time. “This (event) can be a forum for sharing knowledge, experiences, for participants to be able to develop in each region,” explained Juliyatmono.
